Jemson Pierre swears his apartment shrinks every day. The reality is that his three children, one girl and two boys, are growing up with no yard or porch. He also is frustrated that after six years of renting there is no equity to show for it.

Jemson enrolled in the first-time homebuyer class at Tampa Housing Authority and started meeting with a counselor one on one.
“The first-time homebuyer class was amazing,” said Jemson. “It helped me learn so much about buying and maintaining a home and how to manage my personal finances. I tell everyone I know to take the class, even if they are not thinking about buying a home right know.”
Jemson and his wife started looking at homes three years ago. They wanted to live in Tampa but everything they saw in town was out of their price range or not good quality. They grew so frustrated with their search that they just stopped.
Several months later, Jemson saw an ad for Domain Homes and Urban 360° online. They went to the Dream Center and toured the model home.
“We really couldn’t believe the design and quality we could get with Urban 360°,” said Jemson. “After all the disappointments and stops and starts, that was an eye-opening moment.”
Now they’ve selected a floorplan, The Tyler, and their lot. They also are qualifying for the down payment loan assistance from the City of Tampa. According to Jemson, his apartment continues to shrink. No worries. They’re planning to move into their new home in January 2020.
